For the first time the Bayview Farmers Market

Live Edge Farm, Useless Bay Wines
The same folks that grow delicious salad mixes and veggies at Live Edge Farm present Useless Bay Wines, Whidbey's newest winery. They will be at Bayview Farmers Market with their first releases: 2010 Riesling, Yakima Valley and 2010 Sunset Rosé, WA State.

Perfect wines for summer sipping! They both pair wonderfully with the summer food offerings at the market. Sunset Rosé is full-bodied with vibrant flavors of stone fruit and black currant, balanced acidity and a lingering aftertaste. The 2010 Riesling has bright acidity, nicely balanced with a touch of sweetness, refreshing citrus aromas and flavors of lemon and honey.
Barbara Person... Special FX
Barb Pearson, jewelry artisan and fan of all things steampunk and fantasy, has been hard at work at lots of new jewelry pieces featuring bits and pieces of vintage, clock and watch works, and found objects with a bit of whimsy for good measure. This weekend she is offering a 10% discount for all purchases over $60. A great time to get that one of a kind treasure.”

Mormor means mom's, mom or grandma, and aebleskiver is a favorite food of Danes whether it be for breakfast, and afternoon snack or something to go with your evening coffee. Remember Danes sometimes eat 5 meals a day.

 Pam Mitchell... Pam's Place Produce
Last week for the multicolored cauliflower florets! Creamier, with a smoother texture than the white heads, these bad boys are fun for you and the kids to eat. Plant starts are coming back in for a late season harvest, with broccoli, cauliflower (the cheddar hybrid), kale, chard and a savoyed Chinese cabbage with a beautiful orange heart called Mini Orange.
Hope to see you under the big tree on Saturday!

 Shirlee Read... The Kitchen Door
Marionberry pie is a customer favorite, so there are always plenty for sale at the booth Pie for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Special pies this week are two flavors of a fruit and cream cheese fusion, Raspberry or Blueberry Cream Cheese Pie. On the table you will also find a variety of other beautiful fruit pies, cream pies, quiches and frozen savory pies to suit any dining occasion. Select pieces of pie are also available for you to eat on the spot. All pies are made from scratch by pie maker, Shirlee Read.

 Nancy Mayes... Blue Bay Jewelry
Blue Bay Jewelry  Beach agates are in.  Great weather and good tides.  Spend some time on the beach and bring your finds to the market to have them wire wrapped so you can wear them home.

 Gerry and Larry... Tree-Top Baking
Tuscan Olive and Raspberry-Currant Cake this Saturday...
Last week our neighboring vendor Else Whitney (of Skymeadow Farm) brought the first of her new crop of fresh currants to the market --- and the bright red berries gave us an idea. What if we teamed the flavorful, tart berries with raspberry jam in a moist tea/dessert cake? We tried it, liked it and think you will to. This tall proud eight-inch no-too-sweet cake will allow generous servings for 10 to 12 people.
