THIS WEEK'S MARKET FEATURE'S
Shirlee Read... The Kitchen Door (Pie for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner)
This week I will continue to feature organic, island-grown rhubarb in many of my pies. Pictured is Strawberry Rhubarb, a perennial favorite, but also look for Classic Rhubarb,
Blueberry/Rhubarb, Peach/Rhubarb, Rhubarb/Raspberry, and a new flavor, Rhubarb Custard Meringue! You can also find savory pies, good for lunch/brunch or dinner at the booth with the name that says it all--Pie for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Shirlee Read, pie artist.
Pam Mitchell... Pam's Place Produce
Spring is yielding all kinds of lactuca, eruca, spinacia, alliums, brassicas and beta vulgaris! If you don’t recognize those names, come on down to the market and let me introduce you to my fresh, locally grown veggies full of wonderful nutrients that our bodies crave at this time of the year. The tomato plants and other veggie starts are selling out fast, but the window for planting a summer harvest is still open, and healthy starts will give you a jump on the gardening season. Remember to bring back your empty BAND pots and exchange 10 for one free plant start of your choice.
See you at the market.
Larry and Gerry... Tree-Top Baking
There's nothing like the rich, salty flavor of our Tuscan Olive bread — full of rich dark Greek Kalamata olives. Bring on the meal - this will make your dinner a very special one. Also this week a new dessert...14-Carrot Double Gold Dessert Cake... check out our blog for more information.
