The Little Brown Farm in Freeland became the only Grade A Dairy and Micro-Creamery on Whidbey Island when their final licensing came though on July 16 2010.  The first cheese will be available this Saturday at the Bayview Farmers Market.  To learn more about the The Little Brown Farm, check out their website.

Shirlee Read, The Kitchen Door
Drop by the "pie lady's" booth, Pie for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner, to check out the fruit, savory and cream pies for sale. This week Coconut Cream and Chocolate Cream are the featured cream pies, and Blueberry and Blueberry combinations the featured fruit pies. If it's dinner you're after, take home a Classic Meat pie to bake yourself and eat hot out of the oven. All pies are made by hand and from scratch.

Tree-Top Baking
Good news from TTB:  We'll be at the market this Saturday! Our mixer's fixed and we're moving full speed ahead.

Things worked out well and we're back in business (so to speak). We'll be at Saturday's Bayview Farmers Market as usual this Saturday. Come and pick up your favorite bread or morning pastry between 10 am and 2 pm.

An "  HERbal Elder"    is created from a lifetime of practical experience with no diploma on the wall because our education never ends.  Stop by my booth for your "Tonic Taster", this week's
sample...GOOD HEALTH TONIC...the name says it all!...se ya'...Jude...

Shamrock Apples
Crisp and tangy Shamrock Apples are the earliest apple variety harvested at our orchard.  Excellent fresh out of hand and in pies and sauces, Shamrocks can be a good substitute for Granny Smith Apples.  They are very delicate so please handle yours with care and store in the refrigerator to keep them nice and crunchy.

A versatile fruit, apples are equally delicious when used in drinks like Apple Ginger Mint Iced Tea, chopped and sautéed for Apple Zucchini Crostini and baked into Apple Dumplings or Baked Apple Donuts.
